Several burglaries have been reported in Conway over the past few days, and items taken have included personal belongings and guns.
Owners of a house on Mill Pond Road reported to police that they had a burglary of their house. The couple had arrived just after noon and noticed that the sliding glass door was open. When they checked the residency, they discovered that most of the jewelry in the house was missing. They also discovered that a 410 shotgun with an interchangeable 22 barrel was also missing. All of the items were taken from one room in the house, and the estimated value of the jewelry was about $6,500 with one ring worth more than $3,000.
The couple said that one person could be a possible suspect. He and the couple had a falling out, and he would know where everything was in the house.
Another gun was taken from a house on MacArthur Drive. police received a call that a Hispanic man had broken into the back of the house.
When police arrived, they noticed the back door being broken. The resident told police that a 9mm pistol was missing from the desk in the kitchen. She said nothing else in the house had been stolen or tampered with. Police noticed a glass with money in it that was sitting where the gun had gone missing, and it had not been taken.
Police questioned several men in the area, but no arrests were made at the time.
Another burglary was reported by a woman who said she left her apartment on Meadowlake Drive at about 2:30 p.m. to go to the pharmacy. When she returned, she discovered that someone had kicked her front door open.
The woman reported that a Nintendo Wii game console, a computer, a flat screen monitor, a digital camera and an orange juice bottle filled with coins were all missing. She also reported that the offenders turned over a plastic container, which held her medicine. The top drawer of her dresser was open, and several pieces of costume jewelry were missing.
Police noticed that the front door had been dead bolted and that the offenders had used blunt force to gain entry, leaving the door frame damaged.

...those who won't work taking from those who do.
The items taken are those things that are easy to pawn. Surprising that the one didn't take the money. But, then again, no one ever accused criminals of being smart.
That second one
sounds a tad fishy to me .... How'd they know it was a Hispanic man? And why just the gun? Hmm, Watson, me thinks there's deception afoot here ...
well
There might just be a peice of missing information. It says "police received a call that a Hispanic man had broken into the back of the house." It doesn't say who called. Perhaps a neighbor saw the guy leaving or something and called the cops.
