A Conway man was stabbed a dozen times in an incident at Searcy Veterans of Foreign War Post early Sunday according to White County officials.
Authorities said the victim, Jonathan Kuni, 22, was hospitalized at White County Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening after Jesse Chatman, 33, of Searcy, allegedly stabbed him with a switchblade type knife.
Chatman turned himself in Sunday, claiming he was acting in self defense, officials said.
Corporal Steve Hernandez, White County sheriff's public information officer, said Chatman is in custody at this time.
He is being held at White County Detention Center on unrelated warrants for failure to pay fines.
White County Medical Center did not list Kuni as a patient early Monday.
A press release from White County Sheriff's Office said the two were involved in a physical altercation "that turned into a stabbing."
The sheriff's office is still investigating the incident, Hernandez said.
