University of Central Arkansas students and graduates are collecting coats as part of an effort to help those in need stay warm this winter, according to a news release.
The Kappa Koats for the Kommunity is a community-service project to collect coats for those in need in the Conway community. The community initiative is sponsored by members of the Iota Gamma (UCA) and Conway Alumni Chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and members of Conway’s Kappa Leadership Development League. The groups want people to donate new coats or coats in good condition, and of any size, to help young and older people stay warm this winter.
The fraternity will be collecting coats throughout October. The groups are collecting the coats in least at two locations that includes the UCA campus and at Conway High School. However, people who want to donate can make pick-up arrangements by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and writing “COATS” in the subject line.
The coats will be given to the clothing bank at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church during the University of Central Arkansas’s Homecoming weekend, Nov. 2-4.
The clothing and food bank provides free food and clothing for families that are in need all year.
