The owners of Starstruck Video and Wunderland Flea Market were arrested by Conway police Thursday afternoon after officers found about two pounds of synthetic marijuana.
The Conway Police Department served a search warrant at video store located at 1069 Markham St. around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Officers located approximately 263 packages of K2 or like substances equaling approximately two pounds.
“We arrested owner James McKnight and partner Keith Burford,” said LaTresha Woodruff, Public Information Officer for the police department. “Both were arrested for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance With Purpose to Deliver, which is a class C felony.”
The charge may be punishable from 3-10 years of jail time and up to a $5,000 fine.
“When officers [arrived] there were three customers inside and two other employees besides McKnight and Burford,” Woodruff said. “They closed for the evening, but they can reopen at any time.”
Synthetic cannabis is a psychoactive designer drug derived of natural herbs sprayed with synthetic chemicals that, when consumed, allegedly mimic the effects of cannabis. It is best known by the brand names K2 and Spice, both of which have largely become trademarks used to refer to any synthetic cannabis product.

Hmmm
When was K2 scheduled by the DEA? I may be mistaken, but I think they may have the charge listed inaccurately. Last I was aware, it hadn't been banned by the state legislature, but a city ordinance may exist.
I don't advocate the use of any substances (except my coffee), but I'm confused by this article and the charges listed. I was a customer of James' at Starstruck for many, many years (for movies only!!), and I always found him to be a nice guy that could tell you ANYTHING about ANY movie ever made - I liked chatting with him. This is a shame.

Nationally
Nationally it became a Schedule 1 back in July of 2012.

This law trumps that law. Move to Colorado.
There was a time when State's Right's had a meaning and those were good days.
