Renewal Ranch will be holding the Renewal Ranch 3nd Annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 3333 Dave Ward Drive. Cook-off competition is in three categories: Traditional Chili, Wild Game Chili and Spicy Chili. Entry forms can be obtained by contacting Larry Hogue at 501-269-4306, or by visiting the Renewal Ranch website at www.therenewalranch.org. The deadline for entering is Monday. The event will also include a chili supper for the public. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children (not to exceed $20 per family). David Worth Hinton, singer/songwriter and founder of “Outreach For America,” a faith based ministry to “reach the lost for Christ,” will perform.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event for a chance to win an $800 Gift Certificate at McKinney Tire & Auto Center. Ticket prices are $5 each or 6 for $25. Tickets for the chili supper and the raffle are also available by calling 501-680-4895 or 501-269-4306. The drawing for the gift certificate will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16, at McKinney Tire & Auto Center.
Renewal Ranch is located just outside Conway, and is a faith-based 501c 3 non-profit organization dedicated to “restoring broken lives through Christ.” Through the intensive six-month program clients will receive counseling, Bible study and opportunities to serve others through community work projects. They will also receive the education, vocational training and life skills training they need to become productive, contributing members of their families and society. Renewal Ranch opened its doors in January of 2011. Since that time, 25 men have graduated from the program. Currently, there are 17 residents. Nine men are in the Phase 1 program and 8 are in the Phase 2 program.
All the proceeds from the event and raffle sales go to Renewal Ranch.
