Alzheimer's Walk set for Saturday

Posted: September 28, 2012 - 9:28pm

The 7th annual Faulkner County Alzheimer’s Walk benefitting Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services will be held today starting at 8 a.m. at the Conway Expo and Fairgrounds. This is a symbolic walk to raise donations and awareness for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers.

All money raised stays in Arkansas with 92 percent going directly to programs and services. Approximately 100,000 Arkansans are suffering with Alzheimer’s now. Until a cure is found Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services is dedicated to helping the people that are most often forgotten, the caregivers and families. Alzheimer’s doesn’t just effect the person with the disease it disrupts the lives of everyone from the spouse, to children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren.

Breakfast items will be available at the Walk as well as door prizes, giveaways, and a t-shirt contest for any of the teams with matching shirts. Little Rock School District communications director Pamela Smith will be the emcee.
