Scam in Mayflower

Calls that ask Mayflower residents for money for the police department are a scams, Mayflower Police Chief Billy Baker said Wednesday.

Someone is calling people and asking for money, but "don't give them any," Baker said.

They just called and told me they were in desperate need of a new .50 cal sniper rifle, so I whipped out the checkbook and gave them $12 grand!

I thought that's what the .50 Cal Sniper rifle was for!
