Conway police are investigating the alleged rape of a woman in her home at Keathley Drive early Friday.
According to a Conway Police Department release, a resident at Keathley Drive off of East German Lane told police she was asleep in bed when she woke up with a man "straddling and choking her."
The victim told police the man made her undress and then forced her into the bathroom where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, according to CPD.
La Tresha Woodruff, public information officer for the department, said the woman escaped through an open bathroom window.
Woodruff said police believe the unknown subject entered the home through the window.
According to the release, the victim went to a neighbor's house to call police and saw the alleged attacker leave through the front door.
She then returned to her home to get her child, the release stated.
Woodruff said the victim could not offer much of a description of the subject because it was dark at the time of the alleged incident, but he is described as white and about five feet, 10 inches tall.
Patrol officers did not find a suspect when the area was checked, but detectives are following up on leads at this time, according to Woodruff.
The victim received medical attention for injuries she suffered during the attack, and the child was unharmed.
Woodruff said the victim does not believe she was acquainted with her attacker.

Coughing up a lot of info very quickly so they must feel this is very very legit.
Hope they catch him soon!!!!
Did I read this right?
"She then returned to her home to get her child, the release stated."
You'd have to step over my dead body to get to my children.
?
Say stupid stuff often ?
No...
do you??? Oh, you just did.
Catch
This kind of thing has been in the head lines a lot lately. I hope they catch this pervert soon. I'm also hoping the sentence the Doctor received will work to slow this down.
Yes, you read this right.
The victim here is my daughter, and yes she did the right thing by diving out that bathroom window. She didn't climb out, like the news reported, she literally dived out that window.
As for the comment about someone having to step over dead bodies to get to your children, that is exactly what would have happened to my daughter...and then that would have left my grandchild completely defenseless and totally at his mercy.
My daughter did the right thing, no one in my family disagrees with what she did.
Once my daughter escaped the awful sexual assault that this monster had been putting her through, this thing knew he had to get out of that duplex as quickly as possible.
My daughter watched the house as she screamed, banged on doors and yelled for help. She was very well aware that her child was in the house with this perp, but at the same time she had to get away from this person that was probably going to murder her, and she had to get help, if not from the police right away, at least from her neighbors immediately.
My daughter has been through enough, without people making stinging and gouging comments about what they would do in a situation that they have never been in!
Thank you.
The level of idiocy and lack of compassion here never ceases to amaze. The rough-and-tough morons are always certain that they would do better in such a situation.
Best wishes as your daughter, your grand-daughter, you, and all in your family struggle to overcome the aftereffects of this assault.
Your Welcome
Your caring and kind words and attitude are very uplifting for me. I am really concerned about my daughter's mental state of mind, meaning the trauma and horror she endured.
This is going to haunt her for a very long time. She told me that she will be visited by a counselor that handles these types of horrible crimes.
When this violent creep is caught, it would be so nice to see him castrated. But that will never happen in our society.
YES, I certainly want to see much tougher laws and punishment for these perpetrators. If he attacked my daughter, he will attack yours. He has a buzz cut, has real skinny legs by one account of my daughter's neighbor, and is about 5'10" I also understand that he was barefoot. Do you know any male in his 30's that likes to walk around barefoot? Or perhaps he has to...no money for shoes.
Glad all turned out ok
I am glad your daughter & grandchild ended up being fine. I also understand it was an intense situation that required a split-second decision. I have a difference of opinion, that's all. You responded to my comment, so felt I needed to do the same. You will see all sorts of opinions on these sites, part of Freedom of Speech. I just don't think, no,I know, I would not have been able to leave my child alone. But again, I am sorry this happened, glad everyone is safe, & I hope they catch this low life of a human. I think we can all agree w/ that!
You have no right
to a second opinion on this one.
