Once a list that commission members remembered as being two or three pages long, the number of area restaurants that are delinquent on their advertising and promotion taxes has shrunk, but several still have issues and will be served notice in the coming days.
Layla’s Gyros and Pizzeria and Mobil On The Run have both been delinquent multiple months since February with Layla’s having two checks for their tax payments returned. Because of the delinquency, Advertising and Promotion Commission members voted to send both businesses a 30-day notice of unpaid taxes, the result of which could result in fines or in a notice to shut down the businesses.
Another restaurant, Los Amigos Mexican, was also listed in multiple months for delinquency, but it has closed, and a lien has been filed.
Aside from Layla’s and Mobil On The Run, the list of delinquent taxes from June is 10 businesses long, and commission members noted that some businesses tend to drag and pay late, but they do pay. Those restaurants include: College One Stop, Conway Roller Rink, Due Amiche, Fu Lin, Greens at Nutters chapel, Hart’s Seafood, Stagecoach Restaurant, The Caittyd Cafe and Williams Shell 1 & 2 on Hwy 64.
Representatives from Stagecoach attended the meeting because of a balance of unpaid A&P taxes since 2009, the total of which is $815.15. The commission agreed to accept a payment plan and waive penalties as long as the owners stay current.

Because they only want the money so they can play their little help Conway along and feel good about themselves. The A&P commission needs to stop building parks and dumping them on the city of Conway to maintain. Why don't they build their own private park and take care of it.
Layla's doesn't surprise me
I was part of a group that went to Layla's for lunch, and we all said we'd likely never go back. Our food tasted like stale leftovers.
It doesn't surprise me that they're having trouble paying their taxes.
I've been to Layla's 2x
First time was really good, second time a fire started in kitchen than I was served the chared remains of that meal
Been 2 Layla's
Serveral times and got good lamb gyros everytime.
Sad that they moved into what I guess was the best they could afford. Now here comes Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe and plops (or poops) in their front door. I think Tazik's will put Layla's out of business and maybe even Blackwoods too THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!!!!
Layla's is great
Hummus is great, as is the gyro salad. Shame Taziki's is moving in across the street.
I understand it's not for all Arkansans; it's not Chick-Fil-A.

No, not Layla's!
It is the official restaurant for the LCD's editorial staff.
Or maybe it's just me. It's my favorite place.

Layla's should close
They should close if they can't or won't pay their taxes.

Can't should not even be an
Can't should not even be an issue, they are collecting the 2% over their prices which should be set aside, more or less they are stealing tax dollars to pay for their failing business or they need to get a better accountant.
Price of business in Conway.
