Conway police are looking for a 34-year-old Conway man who is a suspect in the possible beating death of two dogs on Thursday morning.
A witness called police to report that he had observed a man at 1555 East German Lane striking the dogs over the head repeatedly with a baseball bat.
When the witness confronted the man, he reportedly told him that he was “putting the dogs down.”
The witness said when the man saw he was calling the police, he loaded the dogs into the back of a pickup truck and left the area.
Animal control officers were able to locate and photograph blood in dog’s pen at the residence.
Neighbors identified the owner of the home, but as of Friday morning, officials said the man had not returned to the residence and no arrests had been made.

Add commentHow awful!!!
I think his punishment should be to stand there and let somebody hit him in the head with a baseball bat.
DOGS
Are not people!!
Granted if he no longer wanted the dogs there are better ways to put them down. BGut let the punishment fit the crime. They don't even allow use to throw tomatoes at perps anymore.
Dogs aren't people
They are even more helpless and need our protection. This guy is lucky as heck that I didn't see him. He would have been having a hard time removing that baseball bat from his rear right now.
AND
You would be the one who ended up doing the most jail time too
meh...
Some things are just worth doing time for.
Animals have done us no harm
Animals have done us no harm and they have no power of resistance. There is something so very dreadful in tormenting those who have never harmed us, who cannot defend themselves, who are utterly in our power. ~ Cardinal John Henry Newman

Urge your religious organizations to preach compassion and responsibility toward animals. Animal abuse is not a trivial matter; the abuse is increasing and the caliper of abuse has been escalating. People engaging in these horrific abuses have violence in their hearts. These people are a danger to the elderly, children and animals. Everyone can do something and everyone should. It is time we took responsibility for the suffering and death we are causing to these animals. Stand up and speak for those whose only crime was being born!

The fact that "dogs are not people" does not give any human the right to torture, beat and murder animals. The fact that "dogs are not people" does not mean that they do not suffer. People who abuse, torture, torment and murder animals have violence in their heart. These people are a danger to the community. Further, your comment "granted if he no longer wanted the dogs there are better ways to put them down" is scary. This mentality and attitude is despicable, cruel and irresponsible.
