UPDATE: About 90 homes still without power

Posted: August 31, 2012 - 10:00am

UPDATE: Faulkner County still has about 90 homes without power after heavy rains poured into the area Thursday night.

Jim Garland, Regional Customer Service Manager of Entergy, said the company was able to restore power to many who had lost it the previous night, and he said all power should be restored by late Friday night.

The most recent deluge of rain brought by the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac was enough to life the burn ban in Faulkner County, one that has lasted for months.

County Judge Preston scroggin signed the order lifting the ban at 8:30 a.m. Friday. The area had been hit with wind and rain for more than 12 hours, although no major damages have been reported, according to Conway Fire Chief Bart Castleberry.

The county is still covered in clouds, and storms are expected throughout the day.
