Rick Fahr has resigned as publisher of the Log Cabin Democrat, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities.
Fahr became publisher of the newspaper in 2010, after previously serving as editor.
"I appreciate Morris Communications for giving me the opportunity to serve as publisher,” Fahr said. “The past several years gave me the chance to check a box on my personal 'bucket list,' and I am grateful for that. The Log Cabin is poised for great things, and I am confident the staff and the next leader will build upon our recent successes."
Fahr is a native Arkansan who is a graduate of Lyon College in Batesville. He previously worked at newspapers in Russellville and Jonesboro. He also has served as a sergeant in the Arkansas Army National Guard, serving tours in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and in Iraq.
Fahr has been involved with Conway Downtown Partnership and the Arkansas Associated Press Managing Editors.
“We thank Rick for the things he accomplished at the Log Cabin Democrat, and we wish him well in the future,” said Derek May, Executive Vice President for Morris Publishing Group.
The Log Cabin Democrat is owned by Morris Publishing Group, an Augusta, Ga.-based media company.
