Police looking for owners of stolen property

Posted: August 9, 2012 - 4:05pm

Conway police are attempting to locate the owners of property stolen from vehicles in Victoria Park and St. John’s subdivisions during the month of June.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy admitted to detectives that between June 13 through June 15, he took “whatever ... he found” inside of the vehicles in the Victoria Park subdivision, including cell phones, chargers and GPS units.

The boy also admitted to hitting St. John’s subdivision on June 29, again opening the doors of unlocked vehicles and retrieving “random” property from the vehicles.

The boy said on the same night, he also entered a residence using a spare key left outside and stole a Jeep at another home.

Faulkner County sheriff’s deputies discovered the vehicle and some of the stolen property the next day.

CPD detectives searched the teenager’s home and recovered more stolen property.

While the teenager admits the items came from vehicles in Victoria Park and St. John’s subdivisions, police are having trouble finding the owners.

Anyone missing property from a vehicle parked St. John’s or Victoria Park subdivisions during the month of June should contact the Conway Police Department at 450-6120.

Hmm

Yep, that's mine. All of it.

"again opening the doors of unlocked vehicles and retrieving “random” property from the vehicles."

Just goes to show you how such a simple act of locking your car can be such a deterrent.

Are you sure?

Because I think that the pink, 1997-model Nokia cell phone is mine.

They were just giving the stuff away. If you leave you car unlocked then you are to blame just as much as this boy you made it way too easy for him to be tempted.
