Officers were dispatched to 2599 block of Washington Avenue after a caller reported that the occupants of a pickup truck were waving a handgun out of the window at a truck driver.
The truck driver told police he accidentally pulled out of the driveway of the Howard Johnson motel in front of a fast-moving pickup truck occupied by two females who pulled around his tractor-trailer, "giving him the middle finger."
The man said the female on the passenger side then waved a handgun out of the window before the driver pulled into the parking lot at Hastings.
The truck driver described the vehicle as a gold, full-sized pickup with "nice chrome wheels."
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Line UP!
I'm coming in for a closer view of this lineup! Looks shady to me.
Not trying to blame the victim
But I always say it takes two to create a road rage incident: "accidentally pulled out of the driveway of the Howard Johnson motel in front of a fast-moving pickup truck"
It's very easy to avoid becoming a victim.
The difference
The difference between the US and most any other industrialized country--there you would get the middle finger or it's cultural equivalent, here you get a deadly weapon waved around. And in the angry moment the person who felt wronged is tempted to use it. When will we ever learn?
We?
I've been cut-off in traffic before and I've never pointed a gun at someone in response.
I think that is a lesson that most already adhere to.
I meant we as a society
When will we as a society learn the lessons about the harm caused by the easy availability of guns. And yes ucantbeserious, I know responsibility of gun ownership is something that most take seriously and already adhere to. But some don't. Why does Canada have a murder rate of 1.6 per hundred thousand, Australia 1.0, The United Kingdom 1.2 and the US 4.2? Why has Seattle had 21 murders this year and Vancouver, Canada, roughly the same size and only 150 miles away, had only 20 murders in the last three years? We could talk about a lot of societal things, but the obvious answer is the difference in the availability of guns. We in the US are not dumber, angrier or more mentally ill than the citizens of these other countries. We just find it easier to get our hands on a lethal weapon.
Never Ceases....
To amaze me how people can take and twist statistics!!!!

A crackdown on prolific violent offenders, including antigang initiatives, is a major reason for the decline, said Vancouver police Const. Lindsey Houghton.

Interesting reading. I found this quote from the same article interesting: "Criminologist Neil Boyd said he is skeptical about reported massive changes in homicide rates from year to year. 'When there are only 500 or 600 homicides across the country, you can get swings of 20 or even 30 per cent every year,' he said." Arkansas, with a population of less than 3 million, had 138 murders last year. Canada, with a population of about 35 million, has 500 to 600 murders a year. In other words, their murder rate is less than 1/3rd that of Arkansas. Why?
why?
might be because of this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Canada#Guns
Canada has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world. There are almost as many rifles per capita in Canada as in the United States.
Might be politically incorrect to mention, but there's probably a demographic difference as well, but that's kind of the elephant in the room, right?
Again, thanks for the link
But it did not answer the question asked. In my original comment I talked about the "easy availability of guns" rather than the rate of ownership. In Canada they do not generally allow individuals to own assault weapons, do not generally allow conceal and carry, require all gun owners to take and pass a safety course, and most importantly require a 28 day waiting period. Every one of these provisions are opposed by the NRA. And, yes, there is a demographic difference. They have a lot of French speakers up there. As to the elephant in the room, Maine with a population of 1.3 million and a 1% black population had 24 murders in 2010. Neighboring New Brunswick with a population of .75 million had 9 murders in the same year, about half Maine's rate. North Dakota with 683,000 population and which is 1.2% black had 10 murders in 2011. Neighboring Saskatchewan with 1.03 million people had 6 murders, about half North Dakota's rate. See a pattern here?
