Father of 13-year-old reports her relationship with older man

Posted: August 2, 2012 - 2:37pm

The father of a 13-year-old Conway girl contacted authorities on Tuesday after discovering through Facebook that his daughter was engaging in a relationship with a 22-year-old infantry soldier from Vilonia.

LaTresha Woodruff, public relations officer with Conway Police Department, said the man believed from reading the messages that the relationship was sexual in nature.

The father told police he also believed the girl had been previously involved with a 22-year-old man in another state.

Woodruff said the girl was interviewed and told officers that the pair had “made out,” but denied ever having any sexual contact with the man.

The incident was reported to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division.

Woodruff said investigators are working to locate the man for interview.

No one ask Dan Cathy what he thinks about 22 year olds marrying 13 year olds.

I'd think

that would fit the "Biblical definition of marriage". Male + Female, right? Pretty sure 13 was not an uncommon age for a girl's father to sell her off for marriage back in those days.

You'll have to ask Dan Cathy that question since everyone seems to value his opinion so much.

I was wondering with that

I was wondering with that headline why it was news worthy. fathers have relationships with other people all the time.

Ok, Pops!

Time to de-activate the Facebook, take away the cell phone and take rebel teenager with you wherever you go. The "22" year old male is probably on the same maturity level as your teen, if you are believing his facebook age and bio, he was probably believing hers, too! Good golly, Miss Molly, don't you know facebook requires you to be 18 before you are able to have a profile? So, she lies, he lies and strikes up smut chat...........

To have a facebook account,

To have a facebook account, you only have to be 13. they have certain safety precautions in place to help protect teens, but it is up to the parents really. I have 3 teen age step daughters and 2 of them (age 15 and 17), their mothers have full access to their pages and recieve emails concerning posts, messages and such. one of them allows me to see everything that happens. it is up to parents to monitor what their kids are doing. I know it is hard alot of the time, trust me, being mom and stepmom to 7 teenagers I completely understand how hard it is.
