Days after three law enforcement agencies were called for crowd control at a private party at a downtown Conway business, authorities are still working with the owner of the business to determine what happened to cause the incident.
According to a police report from the incident, a Conway officer was passing by Michelangelo’s when the owner of the business flagged him down and stated that “a party at his restaurant was getting out of control”. The officer noted that the owner told him that the building was at capacity and a large group of people on the sidewalk were trying to force their way in the front door. The owner asked the officer to have the people outside the building to leave because “the security that was hired was out numbered.”
The officer immediately asked dispatch to send more officers to the business for assistance.
After the people outside the business began to disperse, the owner of the business made contact with the officer and stated that “due to his staff being injured and the inadequate security and off-duty officer staffing” he would like the party inside his building shut down. As the officer walked into the main room at the business, he saw several men in the middle of the floor fighting and advised the other officers of the disturbance.
The officers then made their way into the room and attempted to break up the fight in progress and this is when the officers made contact with a suspect that not only proved to be combative toward fellow party-goers but to the officers as well.
After fighting the officers who were attempting to place him into handcuffs, Christopher Miller of Little Rock caused a further disturbance when the officers were placing him inside the patrol unit.
After kicking at the officers as they removed him from the patrol vehicle to try to gain control of him, Miller struck two officers in the face and yelled obscenities as they placed him back inside the patrol unit. During that time, Miller kicked the bars on the window of the back door “hard enough to cause the top of the door to move away from the weather stripping.”
After transporting Miller to the Faulkner County Detention Center, the officer was advised by an employee that he had a footprint on his face from where Miller had kicked him.
The report also noted that fights were breaking out inside and outside of the building during the time law enforcement officers were attempting to clear the building.
While investigators are still trying to determine how many people were in attendance at the party, the number of patrons allowed inside the building is not known because according to officials at the Conway Fire Department, the business is not displaying the occupancy certificate that businesses are required to have on display inside the business at all times.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Good thing these kinds of things don't happen when you only serve liquor by the drink.
Now if we could only "turn our brass poles upward".
It sounds like Christopher
It sounds like Christopher Miller was squeeling and crying like a little girl on his way to the pokey.
Michelangelo's should be charged with over posession of drunks.
booze
It's what's for dinner.
Drink up, Conway.
Get wet 2012.
I sure hope the arrested individuals don't get harsh treatment in jail, I hear the jail is worse than prison. Of course, I've only heard it from one person....on here, no less.

I thought the purpose of liquor by the drink in Conway was so that our fellow citizens didn't have to drive all the way to Little Rock to enjoy an adult beverage with their meal. Now, it seems, we're attracting the drinking crowd from Little Rock to come up here and bust up the city. How quant.
We've got drinking, we've got the lottery, and we got out of state roust abouts from the oil/gas industry, now all we need are a few houses of negotiable effection to round it out and we'll really have a progressive community to be proud of.
a few houses of negotiable affection
Hey Faulkner, we already got'em. They're called churches.
And we have...
...a person of extremely limited mental capacity. He goes by the screen name of BatmanandRobin.
Amen!
And tax exempt at that. Here's an idea, tax these "businesses" on their income too. It would help the city coffers for sure.
Don't Forget...
...to tax all the other not-for-profits on their total donations as well. No need for any of them to have all that "extra" money to waste on things like helping those less fortunate.
ya!!
and no more tax credits, personal exemptions, deductions!!
I like more tax and I can not lie!
You other brothers can't deny!
