Mrs. Rose Margaret Summers of Conway was elected May day queen a called meeting of the women members of the Hendrix College student body today. Mrs. Summers, a senior and the wife of Gwyn Summers of Conway, will not select her court for several weeks, it was announced this morning. She is a graduate of Dumas High School and entered Hendrix after graduating from Central College.
Mrs. Summers will select her maid of honor and eight additional maids will be selected from the four college classes.

Marine Cpl. Edward A. Lachowsky of Conway is serving with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.
Helicopters, transports and jets of the wing provide air support for infantrymen of the 1st Marine Division at nearby Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Mary Marlene Guyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Guyer of Vilonia, attained a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the fall semester at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Miss Guyer, a 1984 graduate of Vilonia High School, is a junior in the College of Agriculture.

Mayflower High School held its annual basketball homecoming on Jan. 24.
Jasmine La’Trice Greggs, a senior maid and granddaughter of Isreal and Evelyn Garth, was crowned queen. Shae Credit, a freshman maid and daughter of Essie and Charles Credit, was the princess.
Other senior maids were Lindsey Clements, Toshua Green and Catrina Heflin; junior maids were Sarah Graves, Layce Reagan and Chrissy Schafer; sophomore maids were Mindy Bogard and Brittany Mayer; and freshman maid was Brittany Garth.
