‘Basket for Bucks’ big winner

Posted: February 4, 2012 - 5:43pm
David Druey, Conway market president for Centennial Bank, presents a check to Clayton Beene, a student from Mt. Vernon–Enola. Clayton received $1,000 for making a half court shot and $25 for making a layup during halftime at their game against Quitman. “It was exciting to see the look on his face after he made the basket, but the most impressive thing was the reaction from the crowd; it was like they had won a National Championship,” said Druey. Clayton was the first Basket for Bucks contestant to make a half court shot. SUBMITTED PHOTO
