Domestic battering, 1400 block of Old Morrilton Highway.
An officer made contact with a woman at Conway Regional Medical Center in reference to domestic battery. The woman told the officer that her ex-boyfriend had called her all day wanting to come pick up his things from her home. The woman stated that she had agreed to allow him to collect his things but when he arrived, he wanted to discuss their break up. The woman advised that the pair began to argue and the man stated “that if he couldn’t have her, no one could” and began hitting her in the face. The woman said that she lost consciousness and when she woke up, the man was still at her residence and told her he wanted to talk about getting back together. The woman stated that she tried to call for help but the man grabbed her phone and began hitting her again before leaving the residence with her phone. The woman walked to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries. The doctor told the officer that the woman had a broken nose. The officer advised that he would be seeking warrants for the man’s arrest and helped the woman obtain a no contact order against the man.

Can't you see I love you?
I don't beat up just anyone like this! I treat you special because I love you. ::kiss, kiss, punch, punch::
Yeah
This is gonna hurt me much more than its gonna hurt you.
What a low life.
No joke
Beat a woman unconscious?
That's a long way from a game of honk-honk at the fillin' station. No, slapping a woman around is no joke. Beating her 'til she's out is even worse.
In fact, that's someone with a real disconnect from civil society, thinking it's somehow okay to hit then plead for reconciliation. You got to wonder what kind of life they had where one thinks that's a okay way to go about things.
Folks are some of the strangest people.
Bewildered
I am somewhat bewildered how this article warrants a stab at a humorous headline, resulting in a bunch of folks waxing funny about a woman being beaten unconscious. I fail to find any humor in the headline, the plight of the woman, or the response of the viewership.. It is pathetic that the LCD saw fit to mine for a few hits on the article by writing the headline or even reporting on this, and a sad reflection that the anonymous few who responded found some hilarity in the situation. I am embarassed that I read the article, and that I am contributing to the LCD goal of success at the expense of integrity.
Rick Fahr, I like you personally and appreciate that you have published some of my writing. I sure don't like the direction that the online edition has gone, though. Somewhere jounalism has to be about content: not just the numbers of views. If the number of hits on a website is the new standard of success, then I suppose the Drudge Report is the apex of journalism that all others should aspire to.
