Beck to celebrate 100th birthday

Marie Catherine Beck will turn 100 years old on Jan. 23, 2012. She was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Atkins, Ark. She is the daughter of the late Emma (Wiedower) Berkemeyer and the late Clemons Berkemeyer. She had nine sisters, and five brothers. She married John Martin Beck from St. Vincent, Ark., on Feb. 14, 1933. She was married 55 years before John died. She has two children, Robert Beck of St. Vincent, Ark., and Mary Jane Caudell of Conway, and five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Her birthday will be celebrated between 1 and 3 p.m. Feb. 5 at the St. Marys Catholic hall at St. Vincent, Ark.
