Former pastor receives counseling certification

Rev. Rebecca Spooner LPC of Conway, AR has attained certification as a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors, Inc. 

She is currently serving as the Director of the Laurence Schmidt Counseling Center in Little Rock, a program of Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home and Family Services (www.veralloyd.org). The Laurence Schmidt Center also has a satellite office in El Dorado.

Spooner received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Religious Studies from King College in Bristol, Tenn., a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas.

Having been ordained for more than 17 years, she has worked as a hospital chaplain at Trenton State Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey and at South Arkansas Medical Center in El Dorado.

She has served as pastor to congregations in Conway, Junction City, Beebe and Lonoke. She also is an Oblate with St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith.

She regularly attends the Oneness Blessing in Little Rock and has recently been trained as a Oneness Blessing Giver.
