Master Gardeners and a host of volunteers gathered on Sunday afternoon to officially dedicate the Legacy Garden, an acre of flowers, trees and shrubs on Amity Road, designed to educate students and gardeners about saving water, choosing native plants and encouraging butterflies, bees and birds. Ouida Wright, coordinator of the demonstration project for the Faulkner County Master Gardeners, unveiled the marker that recognizes benefactors for the project. In the background are Glenda Bell and Linda Kordsmeier, Master Gardener presidents, future and current. The project, which began in 2009, replaced a 15-by-15-feet water conservation garden at Conway Corp. offices on Harkrider. Molly Jones is pictured with a stand of sunflowers. A Monarch butterfly found a red zinnia. BECKY HARRIS PHOTOS

I am so looking forward to touring this garden next spring after the spring blooms begin showing their colors.
