A three-day celebration will mark the opening of Fred’s Super Dollar store at 9 Eagle St. in Vilonia, beginning at 8:45 a.m. Friday.
Following the traditional ribbon cutting, the Vilonia High School Band will play for the singing of the National Anthem by Mike Sauder of Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev Ken Jordan of Friendship Baptist Church will lead a prayer.
A representative of Fred’s will present donations to Vilonia’s five schools, and the first 150 customers will receive Fred’s Super Dollar rusable shopping bag.
Winners of Procter & Gamble’s Tide Soccer Speed Kick will receive free Procter & Gamble samples and prizes.
There will be special offers at the 16,000 square-foot store with product sampling and registration for $100 shopping sprees.
The Fred’s Super Dollar in Vilonia is a new-store concept for Fred’s Inc. with changes in store lay-out, lighting, shelving, aisle widths and signage.
The store features an expanded food selection that doubles traditional Fred’s food offerings with additional breakfast foods, quick meals, beverages and more.
A state-of-the-art pharmacy will have a drive-through window for refilling prescriptions.
“We have conducted extensive research into what our customers and our competitors’ customers want in a shopping experience,” said Dave Mueller, vice president for sales and marketing for Fred’s Inc. “We feel the Fred’s Super Dollar in Vilonia will deliver the ideal size, product mix and store flow to accommodate customers who are looking for a quick in-and-out shopping trip, or those who want a full bargain-hunting shopping experience.”
Hours for the store are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The pharmacy will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and will be closed on Sunday.
