Bro. Dale Collins is some better and has returned home now. But still has to be fed thru an I.V. Please keep him in your prayers. His mother, Rosa Lee, asked me to thank everyone for all their kindness, calls, cards, prayers, food, that has helped so much during this trying time.
Dwaynne amd Judy Efrid of Alamogordo, N.M., grandparents of Amanda Sellers, were here for a visit on Thursday, June 23. Dwaynne, Judy and one of their grandsons, Ricky, stopped by to meet the Sellers’ for the first time face-to-face. Haley, Henry and Charles welcomed the Efrids’ to the farm and gave them a tour of the “Rafter BM poultry operation and gardens.” The Efrids’ stayed the afternoon and then continued on their Arkansas journey to Hot Springs to meet up with more family. Amanda is Dwaynne’s oldest granddaughter - with Haley, Henry and Charles being his only great-grandchildren at this time.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July weekend. It is always fun to get together with family and friends on special days.
Susan and I spent Thursday night thru Saturday in Hot Springs where we attended the Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen Pageant. Susan is the Director of the Miss Conway Pageant and was there to support her contestant, Robin Hamilton of Conway. We also were cheering for our own Amanda Glover from Shady Grove. We were so proud of both young ladies as they represented their local pageant and communities. Looking forward to seeing both of them back next year.
The 4th of July was a time of celebration for Dean Patton with a big 82nd birthday party at his home. Marlene hosted the party for 23 guest, including family and friends. We enjoyed a big pot-luck meal of ham, polish sausage, and all the side dishes. Dessert was birthday cake, banana pudding, watermelon, and home-made ice cream. Following the meal, those who wished to, played card games and others just visited. Those attending were: Ronny and Pam Mauldin, Larry and Judy Brown, Shelby Wilcox, Dee Yuenger, Warren and Leta Stroud, Bill and Wilma Robinson, Pat Henderson, Stewart and Shelma Henderson, Dave and Carolyn Masterton, Jonathan Sawrie, Tommy and Gladys Carter, Maurice and Martha Ayers, Bill and Hazel Love, and Onieta Godfrey.
Melissa and Robert Gragg and their two boys, Corbin and Garrett, from Stony Point, North Carolina, are visiting in the area. They spent the 4th of July with Melissa’s grandmother, Joan McKaskle. Other guest of Joan were Debra and Jerry Robinson, Hope and Johnny Stone, Michael, Lindsey, Kinley and Chanley Meek. Others visiting were Joyce Garrison of Conway, Karen Brock of Vilonia, Brian Robinson and Kelsey McCuan. Melissa and her family will also visit her mother, Dana Taylor and family at Needs Creek. While here they will also attend the wedding of Melissa’s sister, Morgan. Garrett, who is two years old, will be the ring bearer for the couple.
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Wooster will be celebrating their annual homecoming tomorrow. The morning service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with potluck lunch to follow. At 1:30 p.m. David Patillo will be in concert. The public is invited.
Next week’s column will be a review of Linda Hammontree, Lori and Mallori Reynolds recent trip to Washington, D.C. It was too long to just put in the column, so it will be THE column.
Which, by the way, if you have had a great vacation I would love to share it with the readers of the column. Please send it to me at blove2@windstream.net.

Glad everyone had a great celebration of the 4th of July. Mine was great I was out of the country in Athens, Greece. Going out of the country makes you appreciate the good ole USA. Don’t get me wrong I loved visiting Greece it was a chance of a life time. We went to cheer the three athletes from Arkansas in the International Special Olympics they came home with lots of Gold and silver medals. We also did a lot of site seeing. Doris Watkins and I went along with abut 30 other people. We got to go on six different islands including Turkey. Athens, Greece, is beautiful. Will talk more at a later date. Still jet lagged from the trip but if you ever get the chance to go to Greece take it. We also got to see where Paul the Disciple where he wrote the book of Acts. We saw lots of history and it was amazing. But glad to be home.
