Calvary Church By WANDA “LULU” HARRISReal freedom. Do you want to experience true and real freedom? If so, then turn to Christ. God gave his only Son to die for our sins so that we would have eternal life. By turning your life over to Christ, a new you is reborn. The Holy Spirit fills you and things will be seen in a new light. Here at Calvary Church we believe this with all our hearts. We offer hope and encouragement for those who are lost and support to those in need.If you are on the roller coaster called life and are in need of help today, come in and find freedom that gives you true peace within. Bro. Lynn Mayall spoke to us Sunday on remembering God’s day. “The Lord’s day is a holy day not a holiday.” So many have desecrated this very special day in today’s times. Today we seem to do what we want to do on Sunday and this is aiding in destroying our nation as we know it. John 8:34-36 “Verily, verily I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house forever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”Please remember to bring your children to ‘Gold Rush’ VBS starting July 11th-15th from 6-8 p.m. A great time and place for our children to come closer to God.Calvary Church holds services on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Wednesday night service begins at 7 p.m. “We are a fellowship of Baptist believers.”Holland Baptist ChurchBy KATHY PEARCEBro. Ron’s morning message, July 3rd, was on the need for national repentance. He reminded us of the conditional promise in II Chron. 7:14. He also called our attention to Proverbs 14:34 which says, “Righteousness exalts a nation , But sin is a disgrace to any people.” (NAS) Sin will destroy a nation. Sin brings reproach. Sin that’s destroying America is found in the church, the sin of tolerance. He reminded us it’s time to live God’s Word. Only then will a difference be in America. We’ve been a great nation because of God. If we fail it’s because we fail to honor God. Sunday evening left us examining ourselves to see if we’re doing all we can for the Lord. We are blessed to have a pastor who preaches God’s word. One of our children came forward at the close of the service Sunday morning for salvation. We rejoice every time one accepts Christ as Savior. Some of our little tykes enjoyed Little Tykes Day Camp at Cold Springs this past week. We praise God for every part of our Faulkner Baptist Associational work, especially teaching and discipling through Cold Springs camps. We appreciate the work of our young college bound summer missionaries working there. Two of my granddaughters, Haley and Hannah White are involved in this mission. We’re praying for a wonderful day of celebrating what God has done in and through Holland Baptist Church in its 142 years of existence as we join for homecoming tomorrow. This is done on a volunteer basis and exists on the efforts, donations, and time of many people. Our Bread Basket committee is very thankful for this help, which includes people within our church as well as the community. Recently the committee and Bread Basket families received some extra help. Missions as well as service to others were some of the main lessons for our children during Vacation Bible School, and each evening these children contributed to the food pantry. When the week had ended, over 150 food items had been added to the food pantry, and over 100 dollars had been collected to be given to Heifer International.Wesley United Methodist Church is a compassionate and friendly family of faith.
