Shelter Insurance awards scholarships

Shelter Insurance Foundation and Fred Tate and John Tate announce recipients of local high school scholarship.

The Shelter Insurance Foundation awarded a $1,500 scholarship to James Cole Breeding, a graduate of St. Joseph High School, and Alexi Cole Dather, a graduate of Conway Christian Schools. Shelter Agents Fred Tate and John Tate sponsor and partially fund this scholarship.

Beginning the fall after the recipients’ high school graduation, Breeding and Dather can direct the scholarship funds toward tuition, fees or campus housing for any course of study and leading to an academic degree at any accredited college or university.

A committee of local high school officials and community leaders selected the local recipients.

The committee considered each applicant’s scholastic achievements, educational goals, citizenship, moral character, and participation and leadership in school and community activities.
