Seven members of a University of Central Arkansas fraternity were arrested early Friday morning for allegedly taking wooden pallets from a Conway business.
A Conway Police Department officer was patrolling the property around Tiffany Industries, 2110 Salem Road, when he observed two trucks and several males behind the business. Chris Harris, public information officer for CPD said the officer rounded the northeast corner of the office furniture manufacturing business when he observed several males loading empty pallets into pickups. When the officer questioned the males, they told him they were members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Central Arkansas, and they were taking the pallets for an upcoming bonfire and to construct a fence for an event, according to a report on the incident. The officer made contact with a representative from Tiffany Industries, who told him the men had no authorization to come onto the property, or to take anything from the area. Harris said all seven were arrested and transported to Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office Unit 2 for processing and cited for theft of property. Thirty-two pallets were obtained from the suspects’ vehicles.

Lock those thugs up!
Brilliant!
Nice one guys.
::Facepalm::
this could have been avoided
if they'd just jumped in their trucks and drove 100 mph through town, they could have avoided these arrests!!

Relax
Its not the end of the world.....
I Wonder
I'm sure these seven guys are upstanding young men who have never done anything wrong in their entire lives. I'm sure it's all one big misunderstanding. Just wait until all of their friends flood the forum. They'll explain everything! ;)

Should have asked around
When in need of pallets, ask around. Some businesses reuse them, others would be glad to save the cost of getting rid of them. I have done it and found plenty of pallets that businesses gladly gave me.
I can only hope...
...that a Campus PD camera crew was on the scene. :)
Question
Were the pallets by the dumpster? Why did these guys think they were just up for grabs especially since they were on private property?
