A Faulkner County woman was arrested Saturday evening near Lake Conway after a Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office deputy found suspected methamphetamine lab components in the back of a pickup truck.

In the cab of the truck were three children, all under the age of 9.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, driven by Amber Leach, 29, on Caney Creek Road, a few miles northwest of Leach’s 78 Appleyard Road residence. According to a news release from FCSO, Leach “attempted to elude (the deputy) by pulling into a residence ... (the deputy) recognized her as someone FCSO had dealt with in the past and knew she did not live there.”

When asked by the deputy if she had anything illegal in the vehicle, Leach volunteered a container in the back of the pickup containing “coffee filters, glassware with white residue, Morton salt containers and a plastic jug containing a white liquid that was smoking,” according to the release.

Leach was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, no tag illumination, driving on a suspended license and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Leach also had an active warrant from Conway Police Department for failure to pay fines/fees resulting from a misdemeanor traffic offense. The children were released to the custody of their father, according to the release, and an Arkansas Department of Human Services case has been opened in the matter. Leach may be arraigned today on formal charges at Faulkner County Circuit Court.

Lock her up!

I get so tired of signing for the good meds when I get sick! Lock her and don't give her a slap on the wrist, so she'll be out doing the same thing next week. Give her the same time the state is giving the rest of the drug dealers. Can't believe she had her kids with her while she was doing this. We wonder why the kids can't learn and behave at school. It's because of crappy parenting!

AGAIN?

WOW! She looks ROUGH!!!
This ain't her first go around. This is the second time this has happended, and the father of the kids has priors i would bet, hopefully DHS will be brought in and at least make him pee in a cup.

She should be spayed at the bare minimum.

Sounds like she got caught red handed and with the exact same prior offense there should be no plea deal and she should get the maximum sentence allowed to get a point accross(if not to her then others in the same boat).

Wow, she has not slept in a long long time.

Just look at her eyes. You don't see bags like that every day.

if she had this stuff in the

if she had this stuff in the back of a truck just think what she has at home out of sight!the kids was released to the husband WHY? those kids should be taken out of the home period.because this is not her first time to be caught!these poor kids have to live with the shame ,filthiness, and discusting effects of this drugs.this is one of the most discusting cases of child abuse i can think of!i know kids whos parents are hooked on this drug so i know first hand what it does to a child and those parents should never be able to see those children again because all they know already is the pain and you dont think they will be doing it as soon as they figure out how!

Yes, she was in the wrong to

Yes, she was in the wrong to have the children with her. She looks rough in the picture, but does anybody that has posted to this story REALLY know her? Of course not, Everybody here just sees her as a drug dealer. She is just a mis-guided soul that has went down the wrong road trying to survive in this screwed up economy. I happen to know her better than ANY of you could every possibly know. Only god can judge us. Why dont we stop judging her and be more concerned about how the children are going to be affected from all of this.

good luck Ms. Leach

Just seeing the hurt in this picture is painful to me. Somewhere behind that tragic look is a little girl who means a lot to those who love you. More than you probably know. May the blessing of this Christmas be the freedom from drugs you once knew. You and your family are in my prayers.

Actually You can judge all you want....

People love to say that "only God can judge others" but that only applies to getting into heaven everything else is fair game....Tough Love but if you drive around with a your kids and a meth lab and then take a picture that looks like you've been on a two week binge, people are going to judge you and it's not going to be nice......
