Skylar Daniel Kirkland and Sara Kathryn “Katie” Segrest, both of Conway, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony June 14, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, with the Rev. John McCullum officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Jan Segrest of Hot Springs. She is the granddaughter of the late Buddy and Virginia Allen and Guy Walker and Dorothy Segrest.
The bridegroom is the son of Leta Kirkland of Greenbrier and Phil and Diana Kirkland of Conway. He is the grandson of the late Otis and Lucille Roberts, and Zane and Doris Kirkland.
The altar was decorated with a large white arbor adorned with white sweeping curtains tied back with large floral ties consisting of white hydrangea, blush pink roses, ivory roses, white stock, pink astilbe and baby’s breath. A custom-made chandelier of curly willow, roses, baby’s breath and crystals hung in the middle of the arbor over the unity candle.
Music was presented by vocalist Gina Cooper, violinist Abby Lea Huett and pianist Robin Clark.
Denver Davidson and Zane Fureigh served as candle lighters. Ushers were Gavin Roberts, Ben Fureigh, Benjamin Hornbeck and Chase Roberts.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory-lace fit and flare gown over satin, with a sweetheart neckline and corset back closure, adorned by a champagne Swarovski crystal-embellished belt. The one-tier ivory lace-trimmed veil was elbow length. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of blush pink mini calla lilies, ivory and blush roses, pink lisianthus, white sweet peas, pink astilbe, dusty miller and baby’s breath with the stem wrapped by a blush pink satin ribbon accented with pearls.
Britani Martin served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeni Davidson, Abby Eckert, Emily Loy, Samantha Newman, Abby Oakley, Lauren Turpin and Sarai Beth Fureigh.
Matthew Grissom served as best man. Groomsmen were Colin Pemberton, Kyle Meek, Clay Hartness, Jamie Berger, Chance Coran, Chase Smith and Matt Barnard.
Ava Davidson, Calli Grace Fureigh and Avery Martin served as flower girls.
Lauren Heathscott, Taylor Columbus, Katherine Price and Hayley Boggs served as guest book attendants.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Hamp Williams Building.
After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Conway. The bride works as a first grade teacher with Carolyn Lewis Elementary and the bridegroom works as an electrical superintendent with Fureigh Electric.
