Miss Nikki Strickland and Mr. Jim O’Connor, both of Austin, Texas, have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. Tom and Mrs. Els Strickland of Conway. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beverly Strickland and the late Mr. Thurman Strickland of Heber Springs, Ark., Mr. Theo and Mrs. Inge Koster-Koneke of Merzig, Germany, and the late Mrs. Annie Koster-Koelen of Uden, the Netherlands.
She is a 2004 Honor Graduate of Conway High School, and a 2008 Honor Graduate of the University of Central Arkansas College of Business, with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
She is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, and was the Vice-President in the College of Business Sales & Marketing Club.
Nikki was working for HP in Arkansas when she accepted a position in 2010 that relocated her to Chicago, Ill. Looking back, she says, this was one of the best decisions she ever made for that is where she met Jim. Nikki currently is employed with Dell where she has the role of Global Sales Executive.
The prospective groom is the son of Mr. John and Mrs. Nancy O’Connor of Spring, Texas.
He is a 2000 graduate of Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas, and a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Jim is an engineer for Kinder Morgan Natural Gas Pipelines out of Houston, Texas.
The wedding is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6, 2014, at Cedar Bend Venue in Austin, Texas.
Dinner and dancing will follow the ceremony.
