Miss Allison Leigh Avra and Mr. Peter (Pete) Vincent Guerin II, both of Conway, were united in marriage at 7 p.m. March 7, 2014, in the Chapel at New Life Church in Conway in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Mr. Freddie Mark Wilcox of Greenbrier.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. David and Mrs. Debi Avra of Conway. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royce (Anne) Kirby and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Jo) Avra, all of Conway.

The groom is the son of Mr. Peter Vincent Guerin and Ms. Kim Guerin, both of Little Rock. He is the grandson of the late Dr. D. Lloyd Guerin and Jacqueline Guerin of Conway and Ms. Carolyn Stallings of Little Rock.

The chapel stage wall decorum was flanked with ferns on ornate distressed wooden columns. Ferns and pillar candles lined the steps to the altar. Clusters of lanterns and varied cylinder vases with pillar candles lined the chapel’s aisle.

Kim Tyler of Greenbrier provided music for the ceremony while playing the piano. The songs included the Prelude, “Canon in D,” the Processional, “Bridal Chorus,” and “Wedding March,” for the Recessional.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory embroidered lace fit and flare gown, which featured a strapless sweetheart neckline and a button-lined, V-shaped back closure. A detachable Swarovski crystal embellished empire waist belt accented the dress.

Mrs. Ashley Avra Clark, sister of the bride and of Conway, served as matron of honor. She wore a black lace strapless gown with a fitted bodice featuring a column skirt with a mini train and a peplum waist.

Mrs. Kate Guerin Moffitt, sister of the groom and of Little Rock, served as honorary matron of honor.

She wore a black satin fitted gown, which featured a shirred bodice and a sweetheart neckline.

Honorary bridesmaids included Melia Tate and Ashley Gardner of Conway, Whitney Herron of North Little Rock, Tiffany Dews of Bryant, Brooke Harvey of Maumelle, April Toole of Rogers, Jennifer Irons, Jennifer Hooks of Bentonville, Meredith Brewer of Hot Springs, and Kirby Huffstickler of Houston, Texas.

The bride and attendants carried bouquets of white stock, green hypericum berry, white roses, and white lisianthus and salal.

Miss Avi Moffitt, niece of the groom and of Little Rock, served as flower girl.

Mr. John Mark Guerin of Conway served as best man.

Ushers were Mr. Jim Clark, brother-in-law of the bride and of Conway, and Mr. Drew Moffitt, brother-in-law of the groom and of Little Rock.

The mother of the bride wore a black jersey knit long dress with a chiffon overlay. The cropped 3/4 sleeve jacket was lined with rhinestone trim.

The groom’s mother wore black palazzo pants with a metallic bronze fitted jacket set.

The reception was held at The Brick Room Event Center in downtown Conway.

The event center featured rustic vintage décor throughout. Guests enjoyed a buffet of mini prime rib sandwiches, grilled chicken skewers, sausage bites in chipotle sauce, pinwheels, salsa, hot artichoke spinach dip, cheeses, and a variety of beverages.

Wrought iron trees adorned with tea lights in vintage candle holders, metallic silver vases with white hydrangeas and curly willow, vintage cylinders with floating candles, and metallic silver bottles with baby’s breath served as centerpieces throughout the reception area.

Antique distressed doors featuring the initial “G” and ornate mirrors served as the backdrop for the dessert table. The tiered bride’s cake was adorned with lace and burlap ribbon and a cascade of white dendrobium orchids. Other desserts included one of the groom’s favorites, layered German chocolate cake, mini brown sugar cupcakes, red velvet cake pops, and cinnamon-sugar coated pecans.

The couple honeymooned at Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres, Mexico.

The groom’s parents hosted a family dinner the night before the wedding. The groom’s sister, Kate Moffitt, surprised the couple with a video of pictures of the two through the years. His parents presented the pair with a framed personalized tea towel, which had been a wedding gift to the groom’s parents for their wedding. The keepsake gift had been given originally to the groom’s great-grandparents for their wedding 100 years ago.

The couple was honored at an “Around the House” couple’s shower for family and close friends at the Little Rock home of Kevin and Ed Ellis. Hostesses included Kate and Drew Moffitt, Kathy and Jim Kauffman, Vangie Atkinson, Toni Nix, Kim Pounders, and Bridget Weiss. Guests enjoyed appetizers, a barbecue meal, and a variety of desserts. The hostesses presented the couple with a gift certificate to Lowe’s.
