Kershaw-Paxton engagement

Melissa Kershaw and Graham Paxton

Melissa Kershaw and Graham Paxton, both of Arlington, Va., have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.


The bride-elect is the daughter of Mike and Peggy Kershaw of Conway, She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Meese of Clearwater, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kershaw of Conway and Clearwater, Fla.

She is a 2005 highest honor graduate of Conway High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science in International Business.

She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

She is currently employed as an Account Executive for Hewlett Packard.

The prospective groom is the son of Greg and Dianne Paxton of Conway and Beth Paxton of Auburn, Pa. He is the grandson of Mrs. Shirley Paxton of Cumberland, Md., and the late Mr. Gerald Paxton, also of Cumberland, Md., Mrs. Patricia Sterner of Auburn, Pa., and the late Mr. LaVere Sterner of Cumberland, Md.

He is a 2003 graduate of Conway High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

He is currently employed as a Program Planner for Aerojet Rocketdyne.

The wedding is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. June 14, 2014, at Marlsgate Plantation in Scott, Ark.



Five-year report shows 101.6 million Americans participated in hunting, fishing and wildlife-associated activities

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced a new report by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that shows that 101.6 million Americans – 40 percent of the U.S. population 16 years old and older – participated in wildlife-related activities in 2016, such as hunting, fishing, and wildlife-watching. More detailed, state-by-state reports will be available in the near future, but the preliminary report has many interesting findings.
