Miss Leslie Eve Briscoe of Lafayette, La., and Mr. Spencer Preston Gordy of Conway, both residing in New Orleans, have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. Joseph Burton Briscoe II of Houston, Texas, and Ms. Judy Briscoe of Lafayette, La. She is the granddaughter of the late Perry Smith Jr. and the late Wilda Smith, and the late Burton Briscoe and the late Pauline Dixon, all of Church Point, La.
She is a graduate of Lafayette High School and Baton Rouge Community College. She is currently the director of special events at Ochsner Health Systems in New Orleans.
The prospective groom is the son of Mr. Luther Fred Gordy III of Hot Springs, Ark., and Ms. Becky Vint of Conway. He is the grandson of Montean Joyner of Conway, and the late Glover Joyner and the late Dr. Luther Fred Gordy II and the late Mary Jo Gordy, all of Conway.
He is a graduate of Conway High School and the University of Central Arkansas. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and is set to graduate in 2013.
The couple will exchange vows at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Beaver Creek Chapel in Beaver Creek, Colo., with Mr. Tommy Huett officiating.
There will be a celebration of marriage in the evening with dinner and dancing at The Terrace Restaurant and Patio in Beaver Creek Village.
