Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joe Green, Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joe Green, Jr., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.

Jr. and Frances Green of Mayflower, Ark., are the wonderful parents of two loving children, Chris Green and wife, Denean, and Tracy (Green) McClain and husband, Eddie, both of Mayflower.

They are also the most proud grandparents of six beautiful and handsome grandchildren: Toshua (Green) Thomas and husband, Jacob, Jennifer (Green) Lee and husband, Tim, Trey, Trent, Emilie, and Todd McClain, and one precious great-grandchild, Ayden Lee.

Jr. is a retired steel fabricator and farmer who also served our country with the United States Army.

Frances is currently employed at American Imaging, located in Maumelle, Ark., for more than 30 years, and is a life-long faithful member of the Northside Apostolic Church and loves to sing.

The couple were married on Jan. 18, 1963, by the late Mr. David Peacock. Mr. and Mrs. Green celebrated with their family.

Arkansas lawmakers advance junk food ban for food stamps

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas would ban food stamps from being used to purchase soda or junk food under a proposal endorsed by a legislative committee Tuesday, joining a list of Republican-led states hopeful the Trump administration will allow such restrictions to the federal program.
