Conway AARP

The Conway AARP will meet at 11:15 a.m. for lunch and meeting on Monday, June 16, at the Conway Senior Center at 1620 Donaghey Ave. Our speaker will be Dr. Furlow. Everyone is invited to attend. Ruby Johnson is the vice president.

Progressive Club

The ladies of the Progressive Club met Monday evening, May 5, in the Beaverfork Road home of Mrs. Joanne Henderson for a salad supper and election of new officers. They welcomed four visitors to this last meeting of the 2013-14 year.

The 2014-15 officers who will serve are: Julia Fraser, president; Connie Westbrook, first vice president; Wendelene Smith, second vice president; Sue Nunnally, secretary; Joanne Henderson, corresponding secretary; Polly Bruckner, treasurer; Sue Wynkoop, historian/reporter; and Beverley Freiley, parliamentarian.

The club will take a summer break and resume in September.

The club objective is to unite women for personal growth and to promote their interest and activity in a variety of areas. The group sponsors a scholarship for a young woman student in Conway and donates food or materials to a local organization at various times throughout the year. Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports regional tournaments begin April 28

JACKSONVILLE – Student athletes from across Arkansas will gather at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville each weekend, beginning April 28, to take their shots at the regional and state championship tournaments of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program.
