Conway Civic League

Conway Civic League met Wednesday, April 16, at the Conway Country Club. The menu consisted of chicken salad on croissant, fresh fruit, artichoke soup, German chocolate cake and tea and coffee.

The program was a delightful Legacy of Looking Stylish Lefler’s Fashion Show. It was presented by Cheryl Lefler Bennett.

The models wore beautiful spring fashions and accessories that served several age groups. They were all lovely.

President Sharon Lessenberry called the meeting to order and blessing was given by Pat Ott. Roll was called by Cathy Ketcheside with a total of 35 members present. Minutes were read and approved of the March meeting. The hostesses were Donna Hambuchen, Florine Bell, Terry Hendrickson, Gay Moore, and Eve Torian.

There was no new business and no old business. “Happy Birthday” was sang to those having April birthdays. They were Pat Ott, Cathy Ketcheside, Maribeth Garrison Sandra Hudson, and Laurie Smith. The hostesses for the May 21 meeting will be Charlotte Nabholz, Betty Courtway, Judy Hunnicutt, Molsie Osborne, Ella Reese and Carol Teague. The program will be the installation of new officers for the coming year.

Motion was made to adjourn by Pat Ott.

The annual picnic will be May 8. The chicken will be provided by the Newcomers Club. Arrive at 11 a.m. and we’ll eat by 11:30. There is no cost and you may bring one guest, but please make a reservation. Members, if your last name begins with A-G, bring a dessert, if it’s H-Z bring a side dish.

If you would care to join our organization and meet some wonderful new people, give Maryann Schigur a call at 505-8373 and come to one of our coffees.
