On Dec. 17, 2013, James Lee and Bonnie (Nixon) Lewis came from Florida to Greenbrier for a visit with her sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Willette (Nixon) Troutman. It was a wonderful Christmas because it was the first Christmas they had spent together since 1962. They have spent time together over the years but never at Christmas.

Parade to honor three notable residents

Five-year report shows 101.6 million Americans participated in hunting, fishing and wildlife-associated activities

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced a new report by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that shows that 101.6 million Americans – 40 percent of the U.S. population 16 years old and older – participated in wildlife-related activities in 2016, such as hunting, fishing, and wildlife-watching. More detailed, state-by-state reports will be available in the near future, but the preliminary report has many interesting findings.
