Afton and Barbara Simmons of Conway recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family.
The couple was married at Springhill Baptist Church in Springhill, Ark., on March 12, 1963.
Afton was born in Vilonia. He is retired from the Fort Roots Veterans Administration in North Little Rock and served in the Conway National Guard Army Reserves.
Barbara was born in Greenbrier. She is the former Barbara Alice Zellner and is retired from the Faulkner County Extension Service.
They are the parents of Brenda Simmons Carter of Little Rock and the late Brian Simmons of Conway. They have four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
