Laureate Alpha Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its annual Beginning Day celebration Saturday afternoon at Fairfield Bay.

Hosts were Mary Jane and Frank Moix with the able assistance of Michael, Melissa, Marlie and Mason Moix. Twelve members and one guest, Linda Alverson, attended.

In keeping with the International theme, You’re Among Friends, we were greeted at the door by members of the Peanuts gang, Charlie Brown and Lucy at the psychiatric booth, Snoopy in his doghouse and everyone made photos with Linus and his security blanket. Other Peanuts paraphernalia was displayed throughout the house.

Everyone enjoyed burgers with all the trimmings, potato salad, baked beans, cheese dip and chips served with soft drinks and for dessert strawberry pie and coffee.

Florene Phipps, vice president, gave the Ritual of Jewels, the first sorority degree, for Judy Schultz.

The first meeting in September will be the annual chapter Unbirthday Party hosted by Mary Williams.
