A group of the women of the faculty of Hendrix College had a “get-together” meeting Monday evening at the home of Miss Myrtle Charles on Clifton Street. Plans for college work soon to begin were discussed and at the social period light refreshments were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Caleb L. Nolen, formerly of Mount Vernon, will observe the 50th anniversary of their wedding with open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 2), at their home in Conway.
Four generations of the McCray family gathered recently in Conway. Family members are Martha M. Hood, her father, William T. McCray, Mr. McCray’s great-granddaughter, 6-month-old Jessica LaCarol Bryant, and the child’s mother, Cassandra R. McCray.
The Faulkner County Fair Parade Committee confirmed six Faulkner County residents as honorary grand marshals this week.
Dandrick Moton and his mother Thelma; Pat Moore; Bill McConnell; Henry Hawk; and Robert Anthony Sr. will ride as honorary grand marshals during this year’s parade. Bill Hegeman will ride with his wife Martha as this year’s grand marshal.
