Mrs. W.E. Massey was hostess to the Fortnightly Bridge Club Wednesday afternoon at her home on the Vilonia highway. Complimenting Miss Leah Rose Hicks, bride-elect, a guest table was filled for the games. Roses and other midsummer flowers were attractively arranged throughout the interior. Mrs. Sam Heiligers won the club prize and Mrs. Robert L. Lambert the guest prize for high score and Miss Hicks was given a beautiful rose-jar filled with rose petals. A dainty salad plate with tea was served.
Miss Mary Cecilia Lynch of Conway and Larry Wayne Massengill of North Little Rock will be married at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church.
Miss Lynch is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Raymond Lynch. Mr. Massengill is a son of Mr. ad Mrs. Lawrence Massengill.
Invitations were not sent. Friends of the couple are invited to attend the wedding and reception.
Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Graddy of Springhill community are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were honored Sunday with refreshments by their two daughters, Eloise Morse of Bigelow and Joann Kirby of Springhill community.
Joyce Reid of Conway has been nominated for the 2002 Outstanding State Employee Award, which is given by the Arkansas State Employees Association at its annual convention.
Reid is an accounts supervisor with the University of Central Arkansas and has been a state employee for 32 years.
According to a prepared news release, Reid’s “unfailing courtesy, respect, and professionalism have left an impression on students and co-workers alike, and she is, outside of work, a dedicated nursery and Sunday School teacher.”
