The Conway Country Club held “open house” at the clubhouse last night with new prospective members as honor guests. Dancing was enjoyed until a late hour and refreshments were served throughout the evening. A large number attended.

Jo Ellen Love, of Vilonia, has accepted an honor scholarship to attend Arkansas Tech next fall. B.L. Harton, chairman of the student aid committee, said today.

Miss Love, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Love, was president of the Beta Club and editor of the school paper in high school, a member of the Future Homemakers of America, the library club, the Future Teachers of America, the annual staff, and the music club. She was also a delegate to Girls State. She was a Vilonia honor graduate.

The Rev. Steven Johnson, former pastor of Calico Rock United Methodist Church, has been assigned as the new pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church, Highway 64, east of Conway.

Rev. Johnson pastored the Calico Rock church for three years. He is a native of Mitchell, S.D., and received his bachelor’s and master’s divinity degrees at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.

He and his wife, Artie, have two sons, Benjiman, 2, and Luke, 1.

Greg Alan Willey of Vilonia received Bachelor of Science degree in May from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. A total of 4,192 degree candidates were honored during spring commencement ceremonies.
