Miss Janice Hobbs of Conway was appointed grand chaplain and Miss Juanita Boyce, also of Conway, grand musician, of the grand assembly, Rainbow for Girls, at the concluding session of the annual convention in Little Rock yesterday.
Lee Burgess and David Quattlebaum each hit home runs to pace Greenbrier to 13-4 victory over Mayflower in a Little League game last night at Greenbrier.
Bob Lowry was the winning pitcher.
Greenbrier out-slugged Mayflower, 18-14, in a Pony League contest. Bruce Vann hit three homers, including a grand slam, for Greenbrier.
Tracy Stout, who will be a senior this fall at Conway High School, was selected recently to attend the first Phi Delta Kappa “Brightest and Best” seminar Wednesday through Tuesday, July 15-21, at Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind.
Miss Stout, 16, daughter of Janice Huffines and stepdaughter of Haskell Huffines, is among 100 students chosen to attend the event from a field of about 300 applicants from throughout the nations, all of whom will be high school seniors this fall. She is the only applicant from Arkansas selected to attend.
Karen McNutt, a senior professional/technical recruiter with Acxiom Corporation, recently earned certification as a Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute.
