Ashley Nicolette Hawkins of Mount Vernon and Lucas Michael Brown of Benton were united in marriage at 2 p.m. March 17, 2012, in a double-ring ceremony at Beryl Baptist Church in Vilonia, officiated by Bro. Jake McCandless of Mount Vernon.
The bride is the daughter of Darren and Ranea Hawkins, and the granddaughter of Lawrence and Sandra Carter and Elyce Hawkins and the late Paul Hawkins, all of Mount Vernon.
The groom is the son of Michael and Connie Brown of Benton. He is the grandson of Clifton and Pauline Bailey of Benton, Johnny and Lois Bolts of Donaldson and the late Marvin Brown.
The pews were decorated with silver pails filled with blue and white hydrangeas and adorned with yellow bows.
Flower petals were scattered along the edges of the center aisle leading to the front of the church. The arch at center-stage was draped with an assortment of blue, yellow and white spring flowers. Located on each side of the arch were large candelabras decorated with hydrangeas and crystal beads.
During the seating of the family, Micah and Rachel Powell performed “Momma’s Song,” by Carrie Underwood. Micah played the wedding march and Micah and Rachel also performed the recessional, “God Gave Me You,” by Blake Shelton.
During the unity prayer, Micah Powell and Chuck Sullivan performed and Maegan Elmore sung “Center,” by Charlie Hall.
The bride was escorted by her father. The bride’s dress was made of white elegantly embroidered lace with a strapless neckline, which was very gently curved and edged with beading. It also featured an A-line skirt, lace-up back and ruching across the bodice and diagonally through the hips with beaded embellishment on one hip. The fingertip veil was edged in delicate beading.
She wore blue shoes with rhinestone accents and carried a pink lace handkerchief which had belonged to her great-great-grandmother.
The bride’s bouquet was a cascading arrangement of blue hydrangeas, yellow roses and white orchids.
Maid of honor was Rebecca Hawkins, sister-in-law of the bride, of Conway.
The bridesmaids wore aqua blue chiffon knee-length dresses with a halter style bodice, satin trim and an A-line skirt.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Hawkins of Mount Vernon, Kayla Strachinske and Kerry Hawkins, both of Conway, all cousins of the bride. They carried nosegay bouquets of blue hydrangeas and yellow roses.
Makinley Hawkins, niece of the bride, of Conway, served as the flower girl.
Best man was Matt Brown, brother of the groom, of Benton. Groomsmen were Kyle Bryant, Luke Fulcher and Keaton Grifford, all of Benton.
Ushers were Derek Hawkins, Cody Hawkins, Taylor Clark and Andy Morris.
Residing at the bride’s book were Amanda Head and Kaley Brimer.
The mother of the bride wore a grey lace sheath dress featuring necklace-like beading on the jeweled neckline, sleeveless cut-in shoulders and a scalloped hem.
The mother of the groom wore a two-piece set in silver, featuring a 3/4-sleeve sheer jacquard bolero jacket with ribbon trim over a sleeveless dress, ribbon trim on the bodice and a pleated skirt.
A reception was held in the Family Life Center of the church where the ceiling was draped in white fabric featuring a crystal chandelier in the center. Floral arrangements in vintage blue mason jars and lanterns were used as centerpieces for the guest tables. The serving table was covered in white linen table cloths along with Tiffany blue and butter-yellow overlays accented with floral arrangements and photographs of the couple. Silver and crystal serving platters and dishes were used to serve a variety of foods. Sweet tea, lemonade, and punch were also served.
The bride’s table featured a four-tiered white cake with blue and white hydrangeas positioned between each tier. Photographs of the couple and candles were also used. White tree branches draped with white wisteria and crystal beads were set on either of the bride’s table with white and Tiffany blue fabric serving as the backdrop.
A yellow cake with chocolate frosting was served at the groom’s table, which featured a hunting theme with hunting photographs of the groom. The table was covered in a brown table cloth and was accented with candles, floral arrangements and deer antlers.
Servers at the bride’s table were Amanda Payne and Ali Barton and serving at the groom’s table were Carlee Elmore and Kristi Newman.
The couple took a cruise to Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico, for their honeymoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown are currently residing in Bryant.
