Arkansas native finishes as runner-up on 'The Bachelor'

KATV — Arkansas native Raven Gates finished season 21 of "The Bachelor" without an engagment.


36-year-old Nick Viall telling Gates he cared for her but was not in love with her on the Monday night season finale.

Viall ended up proposing to 29-year-old Vanessa Grimaldi, a special education teacher from Canada.

On the live "After the Rose Special" following the engagement, 25-year-old Gates told the show's host, Chris Harrison, her journey to find love is not over.

Gates is now the first contestant confirmed on this summer's "Bachelor in Paradise" season four.

The show features former contestants from the Bachelor franchise looking for love during a 3 week stay at a tropical resort.

Be sure to watch for Gates on "Bachelor in Paradise" when it airs this summer on KATV.
