A Conway high school student has been selected as a National Society of High School Scholars, according to a news release.
Morgan D. Sweere, 16, a junior at Conway High School, was selected to join the prestigious society. Sweere is the daughter of Kathi and Daniel Sweere, all of Conway.
“Hardly anyone gets asked to join,” said Kathi Sweere.
The selection opens doors for Morgan that include scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, member-only resources and free events. The society recognizes top scholars and invites only those students who have achieved academic excellence, according to the release.
The announcement was made in August by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.
“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice and commitment that Morgan has demonstrated to achieve this level of academic excellence,” Noble said. “Morgan is now a member of a unique community of scholars — a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”
