The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office initiated a death investigation after two bodies were found dead Monday morning at a residence in the 200 block of Highway 89 North.
Spokesman Adam Bledsoe said deputies responded to the residence, located just outside of Mayflower city limits, at 7:15 a.m.
Interim Coroner Robert Edwards confirmed investigators found a 63-year-old white male and a 45-year-old white female dead at the home.
“I pronounced both dead at 7:59 a.m.,” he said.
Both individuals were taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine cause of death, Sheriff Tim Ryals said.
Ryals said that while the incident appears to be a murder-suicide, investigators are waiting for a determination from the crime lab.
“We have sent forensic evidence to the crime lab for them to make a determination,” he said.
The man and woman are said to have been in a relationship.
Edwards said officials were waiting on the victims’ next of kin to be notified before releasing the deceased’s names.
“This incident is considered under investigation at this time,” Bledsoe said.
