Police Beat 7/17/14: The wrong car

Among the incidents recently reported by the Conway Police Department:

Motor vehicle theft at the 1000 block of New Oxford Drive

Police found a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Corolla that did not belong to him. When officers found the owner of the vehicle, she said she left her car unlocked with the keys and her purse in the seat. She reported she did not know the man who was sleeping in her vehicle.

Residential burglary at the 200 block of Willow Street

A resident reported Monday that, while she was at work, someone broke into the exterior storage closet of her apartment and took a television and two BluRay players. Total value stolen was $600.

Criminal mischief at the 4000 block of Tree House Drive

A resident reported Tuesday that someone shot three of the windows of his home with either a BB gun or a pellet gun. Damage was estimated at $300.

Criminal mischief at 120 East Oak St.

A Quitman woman reported Wednesday that, while she was eating lunch at Colton’s, someone cracked the passenger side and rear passenger side windows of her vehicle. Damage was estimated at $400.

Residential burglary at the 1000 block of Robins Street

A resident reported Wednesday that, while he was away for a few days, someone stole his refrigerator from his apartment. He reported he locked the door but not the deadbolt.
