Police Beat 7/16/14: A quick and dirty repair job

Among the incidents recently reported by the Conway Police Department:

• Residential burglary on the 1000 block of Westlake Drive

A resident reported Monday that someone stole $1,300 from him while he was away from his apartment. He reported the apartment staff called him and said he had a leak and people would be in his apartment fixing it. When he returned, his belongings had been thrown into the bathroom so the carpet could be pulled up. A table and a TV were broken in the process, he said, and $1,300 he kept under his bed was missing now that the bed had been moved.

• Theft at 250 Oak St.

An employee of Rent-A-Center reported Monday that someone stole several large appliances from the delivery van while it was parked in front of the business. Total value stolen was $3,794.

• Criminal mischief at the 800 block of South Donaghey Avenue

A resident reported Monday that someone keyed his truck during the night while it was parked at his apartment. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

• Breaking or entering at the 3000 block of Pebble Beach Drive

A resident reported Tuesday that someone entered his vehicle while it was parked at his apartment and stole a set of jumper cables, some cash and a set of earbuds. Total value was $80.

• Motor vehicle theft at the 3000 block of Deerbrook Drive

A resident reported Tuesday that someone stole his four wheeler from his residence. It was chained to his lawn mower with a heavy duty chain and covered with a tarp, but the chain did not appear to be cut, according to a report. The four-wheeler was valued at $2,000.

• Residential burglary at the 1000 block of Salem Road

A resident reported Tuesday that someone broke into his house and stole a safe that contained $400.
