Police Beat 6/12/14:Would-be thieves interrupt nap

Among the incidents recently reported by the Conway Police Department:

Breaking or entering at 101 Oak St.

A Conway man reported he was sleeping in his car in the Kroger parking lot when he woke up to find a man and a woman standing by his car. One of them was reaching through an open window and going through his things. He reported the people were going through medications in a box in the back seat of his car. When he woke up and saw them, the two ran away. The man found nothing missing.

Residential burglary on Crosspoint Road

A resident reported Tuesday that someone kicked in the door of her residence and stole two laptop computers, a BluRay player, some jewelry and a Coach bag. Total value was $2,800.

Theft on Krystal Kreek Drive

A resident reported Wednesday that someone stole her son’s bicycle out of the family’s garage. The garage door had been open because of family members coming and going, she said. The bicycle was valued at $75.

Breaking or entering at the 600 block of Fourth Street

A resident reported Wednesday that someone broke into a closet in his carport and stole an air compressor, leaf blower, two circular saws, a drill, a tool box, several wrenches and a dozen fishing rods and reels. Total value was $1,285.
